These are symptoms of your soulful self urging and pleading with you to wake up and reclaim your life’s purpose. You will almost immediately start to feel better the moment you listen to your intuition and say yes to your spirit.


It’s a simple concept, but hard to do. I know. I’ve been there and have fallen into the thinking, analyzing, doubting, and planning abyss. I didn’t trust my gut, or my decisions. I always chose ‘the right thing’ even if it felt wrong. I thought it was important to make sure I was doing everything the ‘right way’, which was what was expected… not necessarily what I wanted… I played it safe and made myself small in the process.


Your soul doesn’t want you to feel small. Your spirit wasn’t designed to struggle. You are meant to feel limitless, content, and powerful in your mind, body and spirit.


So what went wrong? Why are you missing something, and not sure what that something is?


There are so many ways trauma, disappointments, and failed expectations have contributed to your sense of apathy, disenchantment, anxiety, worry, fear, and feeling stuck and unmotivated. It’s not your fault that you feel this way, but it is your responsibility to take action if you want to feel alive again and claim the life you’re meant to have.


Whatever that life looks like for you, it won’t happen unless you heal from whatever has been holding you back from expressing your true self and going after your true desires.


You may even be so lost right now, you’ll need to go way back in time to figure out who you are deep inside, which is not who you are right now. This empty panicky feeling isn’t going to go away without action. Medication won’t fix you. A new car won’t fulfill you. A vacation won’t make your problems go away.


You’ve been shaped by your family, schools, friends, city, media consumption, government, etc. And now you’ve reached a point in your life where the person you see in the mirror doesn’t look familiar. You’re essentially a stranger in your own life and it feels that way because it’s not the path you were destined for. It’s a path someone else, maybe your parents or your partner, chose for you. And that probably happened because you were stuck in a cycle of indecision and people pleasing back then.


When you fail to make decisions, decisions are made for you, usually to your detriment.


Now is the perfect time to intentionally and decisively choose differently. Be assertive, be strong, be courageous. Start by getting in touch with your energy, with your spirit, with your true self.


Ruminate on these questions, use them as journal points. Start getting to know yourself again.


  • Who are you?
  • What do you value most?
  • What do you believe in?
  • Where do you want to go?
  • How do you want to serve in this world?
  • How can you make this world a better place?
  • What are the natural gifts you were born with?
  • What are you passionate about?
  • How can your strengths be put to good use?
  • What did you want to be when you grew up (at the age of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25…and now).


Trust me, when you start writing down the answers to these seemingly simple (yet hard) question, your heart will start to open and your mind will start to create a vision for yourself that may seem impossible; but if you can dream it, visualize it, and feel how it will feel to live it, it’s possible.


Start to dream the impossible dream. Start to believe in possibilities. Start to clarify who you are and what you want.


It’s easier than you think. You just need to start.


But if anxiety is holding you hostage, the thought of changing directions right now is exhausting, and you are about ready to collapse, you need to heal and restore your vital energy first.


No amount of manifesting or goal setting and planning is ever going to work if you are harboring false or negative beliefs about yourself and what life ‘should be’, or by trying to appease other people.


This goes deeper than a success mindset. You can’t change your mindset when your subconscious beliefs, pain, disappointments, and a lack of self awareness are haunting you. You must heal on a deep level in order to have clarity, determination, energetic freedom, and the proverbial balls to go after something new.
